At NLR strength and fatigue properties of aircraft structures and materials are investigated using extremely accurate advanced equipment. In burner installations, jet-engine turbine and compressor-blade coatings and materials are tested under simulated operational conditions. NLR carries out a great deal of research into new materials and composites.
